Hengli’s polishing process does not rely on manual labor! Beijing Stier’s CNC Force Control Floating Polishing Head addresses industry pain points

The manual polishing process is prone to instability in force control and uneven product quality. Automated processing of complex parts requires the use of force-control floating polishing heads. Beijing Stier CNC’s self-developed force-control series polishing heads have successfully overcome the challenges in the field of constant force polishing.

This model’s force-controlled floating polishing head features an integrated high-precision pressure sensor module, which real-time captures the polishing contact force. It automatically adjusts the feed pressure in milliseconds, with force control errors controlled within ±1N. It comes with a 20mm axial floating travel range, allowing it to automatically compensate for workpiece mounting offset and casting flash dimensional errors. When polishing curved surfaces and thin-walled components, it does not pressurize the workpiece surface. Unlike simple floating accessories available on the market, Beijing Stile CNC incorporates its own self-developed closed-loop control algorithm, enabling customization of polishing force parameters on a computer, and allowing switching between different workpieces without needing to replace hardware.

The equipment is compatible with various robot workstations and can be installed at the end of the robot for immediate use. It is commonly used for polishing and removing burrs on aluminum alloy die-cast parts, stainless steel sink basins, and new energy battery casing. Over time, the surface finish of the workpieces becomes uniform, and the rework rate decreases by 90%.

Beijing Steyr CNC has developed three types of force-controlled floating grinding heads – lightweight, standard, and heavy – tailored for various operating conditions. These heads cater to the diverse machining requirements of 3C small parts, automotive chassis, and large shells. All components are domestically produced, and the delivery period is short. Additionally, programming guidance and on-site debugging services are provided to help manufacturing enterprises quickly establish stable and flexible grinding production lines.
